Connecting people to people and people to place

The 5 Lands Walk is a physical, spiritual and cultural journey. A gift to you from the communities and sponsors of the Central Coast. A place where no one is excluded. A place where family, friends and the wider community are encouraged to celebrate life, have fun and connect to our deep Aboriginal history, European settlement, and who we are today. In doing so we take a step to create a more harmonious and inclusive society on the Central Coast.

Join us for a spectacular multi-media Opening Ceremony Friday, 25 June 4.30 for 5pm @ Hunter Park, Avoca Beach.

This year’s 5 Lands Walk Opening Ceremony is based on the theme of multi-cultural connection. Using music as a uniting force, the Opening Ceremony honours our multi-cultural and diverse world, featuring guest performers from Russia, South Africa, China, Spain, and our First Nations friends from the Pacific and Aboriginal Cultures.

The original songs, written specifically for the Opening Ceremony, are designed to connect people to people and people to place. They speak of resilience, faith and the fragility of our human condition. Ultimately, they are a celebration of life and its Ephemeral nature. The performance features the 30-piece Ephemera Community Choir and some of the coasts’ finest musicians, dances, projected artwork and light show. It is a free event – a gift to our community as a symbol of hope and gratitude.
